This elongated opal pendant has a long history, that first began during the Victorian Era where it was once a beautiful bracelet. Each opal sat in a hand-crafted setting that once articulated beautifully along the wrist. Then one day in the early 2010s it made its way to me! It was beat up and had twisted and broken links. I saw the beauty in the piece, so I made it mine and removed the broken links while keeping the center part in tact. I eventually turned it into a ring during my “ring craze” phase, which involved soldering each articulating piece so it wouldn’t move anymore.
It sat in my ring box for years until I decided to make it a pendant a few weeks ago! My jeweler was able to remove the shank without ruining the engraving on the sides - in fact, it looks like the shank was never there, as the engraving was refreshed on some worn areas. I didn’t want to add just any old bail, so we decided upon “The Fiddler” style since it has more presence and fit the piece so well. Ready to be your statement pendant.
